The Mrs G Story

It all started in the Greek kitchen of Taki and Amanda Manolelis who moved from Greece to Zimbabwe and later Johannesburg in 1990. With a passion for food and growing their own fruit and vegetables Taki and Amanda struggled to get their garden thriving due to all the hail in the region. A friend suggested growing plants under the ground as these would not be affected by the hail.

So, the couple tried growing garlic and with great success the crops flourished. They began selling to local restaurants who demanded the garlic to be chopped. Only being able to speak limited English the restaurant owners started calling Amanda Manolelis “Mrs Garlic” and so the company that sold “chopped” garlic was born…

What began in Mrs Garlic’s kitchen has grown into a large FSSC22000 certified factory covering sauce & spice manufacturing, distribution, and sales – all under the QMM Group. In addition to our own quality products, we proudly offer the Mr Sauce and Qualifresh product range.
