How it all began
The kitchen that became Mrs Garlic
It all started in the Greek kitchen of Taki and Amanda Manolelis, who moved from Greece to Johannesburg in 1990.
When hail kept flattening their garden, a friend suggested growing underground, so they planted garlic, and the crops flourished.
Local restaurants wanted it chopped, and started calling Amanda “Mrs Garlic”. The name stuck. Today the kitchen has grown into a family food business, but every tub is still made with the same love and dedication.
